Empire’s German Program Honored

Empire High School’s German program which is taught and led by Dr. Veronica Ostertag, has been designated a German Center of Excellence by the American Association of Teachers of German. Judges found the Empire High School programming excellent in every category.

The Empire German program will be honored during the AATG Awards Presentation at the ACTFL Convention and World Languages Expo on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The German program at Empire High School certainly values its students. The judges noted that the faculty clearly values student feedback stating, “this is truly a program that is designed to meet the needs of students.”

Way to go, Empire!

As a side note, Empire is not attending the convention in Louisiana as the funds set aside to do so are being used to send a student to Germany next year with the GAPP program. The program is certainly student centered.
