What a great way to kick off Vail Pride Day! Cienega High School has been awarded the A+ School of Excellence Accreditation! Congratulations to our Bobcat students, staff and families! 💙

Cienega continues to be a powerhouse sports school! ⚽️🏀🤼 Check out these awesome recent sports victories and awards!! Mark Aros (boys soccer), Tony Torres (girls soccer), and Jason Apodaca (boys basketball) won 5A Sonoran region coaches of the year. Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, and Boys Basketball are all 5A Sonoran Region Champs Boys Basketball made it to their 2nd consecutive Open Division Tournament. The Girls Soccer team is moving on to the Elite 8 this Saturday at 12 pm at CHS. They won their 5th straight region title this year! Boys Wrestling will have 8 wrestlers competing for the Division 2 State Championship in Phoenix starting today. Girls Wrestling will have 4 wrestlers competing for the Division 1 State Championship in Phoenix starting tomorrow. Girls Basketball is playing Paradise Valley in the 5A State playin game 2/15 @ Paradise Valley.

Due to the weather this weekend, the Mental Health Awareness Walk has been postponed to SATURDAY, MARCH 9TH! We hope to see you all on March 9th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Together with The Ethan Ardrey Project, The Vail School District Foundation, and Cienega High School are coming together to host a Mental Health Awareness walk, where compassion meets action. Join us THIS Saturday, February 10th here at CHS from 10:00am-1:00pm for a journey of understanding, support, and unity as we stride together to break the stigma surrounding mental health. We hope to see you all there!

Today is the Love of Reading day for our Vail elementary schools. We have traditionally sent our many of our athletes to read to the little ones and the kids love it. We sent athletes from Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Golf, and wrestling this morning. The kids had a blast and it is always heartwarming to see the elementary students so excited. Way to Go, Bobcats!

We have learned of a couple of opportunities hosted at the Gibson-Esmond Station Library for teens and young adults: - Grab & Go Reading Journal kits available for students who love to read and want to track/journal their reading (Book Review Pages are included!) Students can swing by and pick up a kit; - A free writing workshop on Wednesday, January 31st from 4-5pm, for students interested in creative writing.
