Professional Development
Vail is known throughout Arizona both for the comprehensiveness as well as the quality of its staff development programs. Teachers participate in a rigorous New Teacher Induction program as well as cognitive, literacy, and math coaching. Vail further provides opportunities for leadership development for teachers and teacher certification programs for our classified staff.
Career and Technical Education and Internship Opportunities
Vail’s Career and Technical Education Programs are second to none earning students numerous awards and accolades! We work to provide students with career specific technical and professional skills that they can use now and well into their futures. Further, Vail offers year long internships for students during their senior year should they choose to participate, opening doors of opportunities beyond imagination.

Gifted and Advanced Learning
Our mission in the Vail School District is to raise ability levels for all students while providing gifted services in the regular classroom, connected to academic standards.
Vail utilizes a variety of strategies for students receiving gifted services including cluster models, enrichment, honors, and advanced placement coursework.

Fine Arts
Vail's award winning fine arts programs provide students with opportunities to connect, thrive, and express themselves in creative ways! Vail's high school students compete at the highest levels in the state in music, theater, and art including countless festivals, participation in regional and all-state music groups, theater productions, and more. Vail even enjoys watching some of its elementary theater students wow audiences at the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Tucson each year.

Textbook Adoption Information
In accordance with Governing Board Policy IJJ - Textbooks and supplementary books for common schools recommended by textbook selection committees will be placed on display in the District office for a period of at least sixty (60) days prior to the meeting at which the Board will consider their adoption.
