Mica Mountain High School launched an exciting new Career and Technical Education (CTE) Aviation Program this year! Students will dive into projects like building windmills, using flight simulators, flying drones and model airplanes, and collaborating with engineering students. They’re also working toward earning various FAA credentials!
Check out a photo from a class with the mission for the day: “From the Moon to the Earth.” Students were tasked with engineering a way to transport paperclips from the floor to the ceiling using only a balloon as a thruster and string as a guide.
On Friday, August 8th, the Aviation class enjoyed a guest speaker… a 2017 Andrada graduate who is now a pilot who came back to share some exciting insights from her career!
