Welcome to the Vail School District

As we are wrapping up this year’s fall season of competition, I am so excited to share Cienega’s exciting news! The Copper Thunder Marching Band earned 2nd over all in the 4A AZMBA championship last Saturday with a score of 83.775, the highest ever earned by Cienega. Further, the band took the Southern Regional title!

When they came in first at Southern Regionals with a score of 81.963, their highest to that point, they were thrilled, but to beat it and take a 2nd place finish at state… they were ecstatic, and rightfully so!

This outstanding achievement is not only a testament to Band Director Reed Bailey and Company’s work at Cienega, but it is also a testament to the support of Vail’s parents and community. Our high quality fine arts programs are in place and funded because of the budget override that parents and community renew every five years… an override that has been in place since the early 1990s! Thank you for continuing to ensure these valuable opportunities are available to Vail’s children!

Copper Thunder Marching Band is certainly a point of pride in Vail! Way to go, Cienega!
