Kendra Forgacs, Principal of Desert Willow, has been named NAESP National Principal of the Year for Arizona!

Each year NAESP recognizes Pre-K through grade 8 principals from across the nation. Principals are nominated by peers in their state and final selections are made by committees appointed by each of NAESP's state affiliate offices. Mrs. Forgacs will be representing the entire state of Arizona through this award!

Arizona School Administrators (ASA) surprised Kendra with the award in front of her staff Thursday afternoon. She had no idea and her reaction was caught on video:

This is a huge honor, for Kendra, Desert Willow, and our district as a whole. It is a very fitting recognition of Kendra’s work and the impact she is making on the lives of Vail’s children. It is also an example of the great work happening across our district every day.
