Homeschool Partnerships

Welcome to Vail School District’s ESA & Home School Opportunities

We are proud to partner with ESA and home school families by providing opportunities for students to participate in select classes, clubs, athletics, and extracurricular programs across our schools.

Families who are home school or participating in Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program may choose the Vail school site they would like their child to attend for eligible activities. Because offerings vary by campus, we encourage families to contact their preferred school directly to learn more about available programs, participation requirements, and space availability.

How to Get Started:

  1. Explore Opportunities - Contact your preferred Vail school site to inquire about available classes, clubs, athletics, or extracurricular activities.

  2. Submit a Participation Request  - Once you identify a program your child would like to join, please complete the ESA/Homeschool Participation Request Form.

  3. Eligibility & Approval Process - After your request is submitted, district staff will coordinate with the selected school site to determine eligibility and next steps. Depending on the activity, this may include:

    • Tryouts for athletic programs

    • Confirmation of available space in classes or clubs

    • Additional site-specific requirements

  4. Fees & ESA Invoicing - Participation fees are approved by the Governing Board and apply to all students participating in district programs. Fees are not negotiable and cannot be reduced or waived. Once participation is confirmed, the district will prepare an itemized invoice for ESA submission. If you are a home school family not participating in an ESA, regular school-associated fees will apply. ESA participation will be verified.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support ESA and home school families and look forward to helping your child connect, learn, and thrive through Vail School District programs.

Homeschool/ESA Options

Participation fees are set and cannot be adjusted or waived. These fees have been approved by the Vail Governing Board. We strive to ensure our practices remain fair and consistent for all participants.

Please note: Groups who rent VUSD facilities (Vail Soccer Club, Color Me Mine, etc.) do NOT fall under the ESA fees. If you are paying fees directly to a third party, that group is leasing VUSD space and ALL families pay the same fee.
